How much is my deposit?

Your voucher will show you how much the deposit is. So will the car's rental terms - you'll find it by clicking on 'important info' on the offer on the results page. Alternatively, after selecting a certain offer in the 'Rental Terms and GTC' section.

Alternatively, by clicking the 'view voucher' button in your confirmation email, or by logging into your customer account under 'My bookings'. Simply open the relevant booking and click on the 'Car rental voucher' option there.

Tip: The deposit amount depends on the rental company and car category – check your voucher.

What is my booking reference number?

Your booking reference number is a number that's unique to your booking. You'll find it on the email we send you to confirm your booking, and on your rental voucher.

If you need to contact us, it'll help us find your details quickly if you have your booking number to hand.

Tip: Keep your reference number handy – it speeds up customer service interactions.

Why do I have to pay a deposit at the rental counter?

It's a security deposit, so you'll get it back after your rental.

Of course, if the car gets bumped or scraped during the time you've got it, the rental company will hang on to some or all of your deposit to pay for the damage.

They might also retain part of your deposit if the car's really dirty - or if you drop it off late or at the wrong rental counter.

Tip: Deposits are refundable unless damage or fees apply document the car’s condition.

How do I pay for my car?

When you're booking your car, you can use most credit or debit cards to pay for it (we'll tell you which cards we accept).

But very few rental companies accept debit cards for the security deposit you leave at the rental counter. So in the vast majority of cases, the main driver will need to present a credit card in their own name when they pick the car up.

It doesn't have to be the same card that was used to book the car.

Tip: Most companies accept credit cards – confirm payment options before arriving.

What if I haven’t received my booking confirmation?

Most bookings are confirmed straight away via email, so please check your spam folder if there's nothing in your inbox.

You can also check the status of your booking online:

Please make sure you're signed in on our website. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner to open the 'My account' menu, then select 'My bookings'. There, you can view your booking details, check the status, open your voucher or cancel your booking.

Tip: Check your spam folder and always double-check your email address when booking.

My booking is not confirmed yet?

If you find that your booking isn't confirmed yet, we're working on it - and we'll email you as soon as it is. In the unlikely event that we run into any problems, we'll let you know as soon as we can.

Tip: Use your booking reference number to quickly check your rental status online.
